I wrote and recorded this song for my mom for Christmas. The song is a letter from my father, to my mother, based on what I think he would say to her after he was gone (he passed away about ten years ago). My dad had a hard life and it showed in the way he carried himself and communicated with others, but behind that rough and distant exterior was a very loving husband and father who cared very deeply for his family and knew in his heart (and would sometimes even say) that while it was his job to take care of his wife and children, it was really us who saved him.

Lyrics

Time for sleep, Your eyes weep
Fight the tears, No more fears

All my life, Full of strife

Trust in me, Please believe
You’ll be free, You will see

All your life, Full of strife

It’s in the way that you wish upon a star
And in a way you know it’s not very far

Friends will greet, Take my seat
Our eyes meet, Summer heat

All our life, Full of strife

It’s in the way that you wish upon a star
And in a way you know it’s not very far

You and me, Destiny
We will be, Family

All your life, Be my wife

It’s in the way that you wish upon a star
And in a way you know it’s not very far

It’s in the way that you wish upon a star
And in a way you know it’s not very far

It’s in the way that you wish upon a star
And in a way you know it’s not very far

Life rewind, You saved mine
