Gear Rescue

I like to get my hands on old gear and try to fix it (or at least breathe new life into it).  Most gear is found locally or at shopgoodwill.com, which not only has a steady supply of great but broken down old gear but actually also has nice supply of vintage guitars and gear (some still worth and sells for thousands of dollars...but hey, its for charity, right?). Plus my "gear rescue" helps me build up the studio with old 80s and 90s gear, the kind of stuff I used to salivate over but couldn't afford as a teenager (and now you can get for very cheap...at least the gear I'm buying for the studio)...and most of all hopefully helps me recreate that 80s/90s sound!

From the Archives

Old pictures from the archives, mostly pictures from the days of playing with the Accidentals in the 80s and 90s.  Will post new pictures there as I come across them (if you happen to have any please let me know!).

United Record Pressing

United Record Pressing (www.urpressing.com) is the largest record pressing operation in North America with capacity to manufacture over 60,000 records per day.  URP proudly partners with many of the world’s largest record labels and their artists, as well as numerous independent and emerging artists. Maybe some day they will press some Jason Starr records!

URP also happens to be run by my good friend and mentor Mark Michaels.  I've had the good fortune of watching him carry on the legacy of URP and take it to a whole other level.  If you like vinyl records and seeing how things are made, you would love to see the process and craftsmanship that goes into the production process. If you would like to learn more, watch this awesome video where Mark Agnesi of Gibson interviews Mark Michaels of URP:  The Scene Nashville - United Record Pressing
